Sherrie Lynn Ohler

May 27, 1990 ~ May 28, 2022 (age 32)

In the early afternoon of May 28th, Sherrie Lynn Ohler stepped into Heaven after a long battle with cancer at the young age of 32 and is now in the arms of Jesus that she loved so much.

Sherrie was born to parents Katrina Westby and Michael Ohleron May 27, 1990. Sherrie was born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska. She was the middle child and lived up to the reputation of being the wild child. Sherrie graduated from Lathrop High School in 2008 and later that year she welcomed her first child, Robert. She later welcomed daughter Emma in 2015 and Marylynn in 2018. Raising her children was the joy of her life and she loved them with her entire being.

Sherrie was fearless and she lived life to the fullest. She loved to fish, hunt, camp, take road trips, raise honey bees, paint and photography. She loved spending quality time with her family and close friends. She was always the one to do arts and crafts with her kids and her nieces and nephew. When she wasn’t off having an adventure, Sherrie was working the job that she loved at Napa. Sherrie first started working at Napa in 2012 as a parts puller and after years of hard work she proudly made her way up to a manager position in 2020. Sherrie loved working at Napa and those that worked with her were a second family to her. They were all a tremendous help to her when her health started to decline and we will be forever grateful for the love, kindness and generosity that they showed her. To all those that helped Sherrie and donated to help her, both friends and strangers, thank you. Sherrie will always be remembered for her larger than life personality, her willingness to always help someone even when she didn’t feel great, her independence and stubbornness. We will miss everything about her but especially her beautiful smile, her wonderful humor and her joyous laughter.

Sherrie is preceded in death by her grandparents John and Joan Ohler and her Aunt Barbara Ford. Sherrie is survived by her parents Katrina Westby and Michael Ohler, her children Robert Lambert, Emma and Marylynn Samson, her siblings Kasie Ohler, Jessica Miller, Michelle Ohler and Jesse Ohler, her nieces and nephew Ella, Brent and Calliann Miller, her grandparents Sharol and Jim Holznagel and many aunts, uncles and cousins who will all miss her dearly.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 17th from 2pm to 5pm at the Wilderness Pavilion at Alaskaland (Pioneer Park), near the boat launch. Should friends desire, in lieu of flowers, contributions for Sherrie’s children may be sent to Katrina Westby at 505 Old Steese Hwy Ste 113 Fairbanks, AK 99701
