Ronnie Paul Kahrs passed away on January 12th, 2021 in Tok, Alaska at the age of 63.
Ron was born February 4th, 1957 in Clay Center, Kansas to Richard and Delores Kahrs of Morganville, Kansas. He married Charsue (Sue) Rummel of Clay Center, Kansas in Durant, Oklahoma on June 17th, 1983.
Ron graduated from Clay Center Community High School and went to work on the family farm. He later moved his family to Alaska and went to work for the Veco Company at Prudhoe Bay as an equipment supervisor from 1989 until his retirement in 2020. Ron was a hard-working man who loved his family. He was a true outdoorsman and had a life of doing what he enjoyed, which included, fishing, camping, boating, and had a great love for hunting. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Ron was preceded in death by his father, Richard Kahrs and a sister, Janice Straub. Ron is survived by his mother Delores Kahrs of Morganville, Kansas, his wife Sue of Wasilla, Alaska, his son Kyle R. Kahrs and fiance’ Eva Warner of Wasilla, Alaska, grandsons Landen and Jordan. Also surviving are his brother Rick and wife Joan Kahrs of Morganville, Kansas, sisters, Susan Schmitt of Emporia, Kansas, Donice James, Karen Rodvelt, and Pamela Hitsman, and brother-in-law Al Straub of Clay Center, Kansas, brother-in-laws Lyle Rummel, Olin, Iowa, Allan Rummel, Mark Rummel and wife Michelle of Clay Center, Kansas, sister-in-laws Deanna Laffery and Lisa Urban of Clay Center, Kansas and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Ron didn’t wish to have a service but wanted to be cremated and to have his ashes spread over the mountains and rivers in Alaska that he loved. He will be missed and forever in our hearts.
