Patricia Lyn Karmun

February 11, 1946 ~ December 24, 2021 (age 75)


Patricia Lyn Karmun passed away on the 24th of December 2021 from medical complications.

She was born on February 11th, 1946 to William and Gladys Dillman in Newton, Kansas. Patricia grew up with four other siblings. They loved to play outside in fields at their family farm. She grew up tending to numerous animals on the farm each day. In August of 1963 Patricia and her family made the move from Newton to Prospect, Oregon.

Patricia then ventured off into her adult life where she was blessed with two daughters. She and her children lived in Oregon for eleven years before they made their move to Fairbanks, Alaska in 1981. She then met her husband Thomas Karmun and they got married on February 14, 1987. Patricia worked for Bag Boy Convenient store here in Fairbanks. She was a very happy person, always smiling and ready to have the conversation of her life with anyone willing to chat. Patricia was loved by many and will be missed by them all.

She is preceded in death by her father William Jacob Dillman, mother Gladys Dillman, sister Sherrie L. Stockebrand, grandson Bubba Betts and her dog Misty Karmun.

Patricia is survived by her spouse Thomas Karmun of Fairbanks, AK, daughter Candra Gilbert of North Pole, AK, daughter Trina (Mark) Byrd of Fairbanks, brother Kenneth Dillman of Eagle Point, OR, brother Larry Dillman of Sisters, OR, sister Sally VanSand of Yates Center, KS, grandson Mark (Kristine) Byrd Jr. of Fairbanks, AK, granddaughter Jennie Byrd of Fairbanks, AK, great granddaughter Kristina Byrd of Fairbanks, AK, great grandsons Christopher, Jayden, Adam and Jakob Byrd of Fairbanks, AK along with numerous other grandchildren and great grandchildren and her dog Red Karmun.

The family would like to thank everyone for their continued support, thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

A memorial will be held at a later time, date, and place, the family will publish it in the Daily News Miner.

Due to the unexpected death of Patricia the family is requesting financial assistance with the funeral expenses in leu of flowers. Blanchard Family Funeral Home is providing services.
