Arvil “Gary” Taylor, age 88 of Fairbanks, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at home due to natural causes.
Gary was born on October 4, 1933 in Ogden, UT. He moved to Alaska in 1965 and ended up living in Alaska off and on for 36 years. Gary married Claudia Cornell on May 3, 1973 in Anchorage. He was an extremely hard worker and loved Alaska. Gary always had adventure in his heart. He made sure his family’s lives were never boring. He taught his children the importance of looking out for people that need help, and to stand up for other people when they can't stand up for themselves. Most importantly, he taught them to never quit.
Gary is survived by his wife; Claudia Taylor, sons; Douglas Taylor, Brook Taylor, Daren Taylor, Frank Taylor, Clifford Taylor, William Taylor, Kelly Taylor, and Michael Taylor, daughters; Cindy Ausick, Linda Petersen, Sandra Taylor, Beverly Taylor and Katrina Downing, 38 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; Arvil Taylor and Leah Hopson, brother; Lavel Taylor, son in law; Bob Johnson, and grandchildren; Quin Taylor, Zoe Hunt, and Christopher Taylor.
