Richard G. Lundhagen was born in 1935 in Battle Lake, Minnesota and passed away July 23, 2018.
His parents were Olive Rostad and Oscar Lundhagen. Losing his mother at a young age, he was blessed to be loved by Ardis Lundhagen, his stepmother.
Richard grew up in Mankato, Minnesota. He graduated from Mankato Senior High in 1953, then attended Mankato State College from 1953-1961 where he studied physics and mathematics.
In 1955 while in college, he joined the U.S. Air Force and trained in tracking radar systems. His military career ended with an honorable discharge where he began a career with RCA Service Co. bringing Richard to Fairbanks Alaska in 1965. During his employment with RCA, Richard held many titles until his retirement in 1995.
In the early 70’s Richard became proprietor of the Comet Club.
In 1990 he married the love of his life Phyllis, where they made Fairbanks their home.
In his retirement years, Richard enjoyed golfing, Gold Panner games, walking, fishing, watching sports and theatre productions locally and throughout the U.S.
Richard was a big supporter of the Gold Panners, local little league, F.L.O.T, and the Olympics Committee.
He is preceded in death by parents: Olive, Oscar, Ardis Lundhagen and brother, Donald Lunghagen.
Richard is survived by his wife Phyllis Lundhagen, sister, Lori (Randy) Cooley, brother, John Lundhagen, 2 nieces, Megan (Dale) Peterson, and Adriene Cooley.
