Lazarus Hawley-Solski passed away suddenly on November 2, 2018 in Anchorage, Alaska. He was 33 years old.
Lazarus was born in Barrow, Alaska to Jane and Jerry Hawley of Wainwright, He was adopted at age four by Shelby Solski of Fairbanks and Bobby Coates of Barrow. He and his family moved to Fairbanks, Alaska in 1995. He graduated from Lathrop High School in 2005.
While Lazarus faced many challenges throughout his life he never gave up. He brought smiles to all who knew him and was never afraid to lend a helping hand. It is with huge sorrow and sadness that his family has to say goodbye.
Lazarus was married to Sarah Sallaffie of Shishmaref in May 2006. His son Edward was born the same year.
Lazarus enjoyed cooking, strumming on his guitar and creating art. He was always making people smile and laugh. His smile lit up his whole face. He was often his mothers “go-to” helper. He loved his family very much and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife Sarah and his son Edward and his parents Shelby Solski and Bobby Coates as well as his birth parents Jane and Jerry Hawley. He is also survived by his siblings Jesse Hawley, Fannie Kingosak, Myra Hawley-Solski, Miki Nayukok-Solski, Robert Coates-Solski, Willi Coates-Solski and Adele Gibson. He is also survived by his nephews Stanley Solski, Elijah Solski, Isaiah Gibson and Arturo Solski.
A visitation and service will be held on November 11, 2018 at the Blanchard Family Funeral Home (611 Noble Street) from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A memorial service will follow at JP Jones Center (2400 Rickert St.) from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Anyone wanting to send flowers send them to the Blanchard Family Funeral Home.
