Jody Lynn Ramos, age 45 of North Pole, passed away at home on Sunday, June 3, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.
Jody was born on September 10, 1972 in Hoisington, KS. Jody met the love of her life, Rick Ramos, and they were married on July 27, 1997 at the Council Hill Christian Church in Peck, KS. Jody was a registered nurse at Bassett Army Hospital and served her country honorably in the United States Army.
Jody was a person that loved to serve others. A devoted wife, mother, and dedicated nurse. She was also a nurturing and compassionate softball coach that took a personal interest in developing young people and found joy in their success. She applied that same passion to her family and her patients at Bassett Army Hospital. Her husband said, “Jody will be deeply missed by not only her family, but also the children she coached and the community and co-workers she deeply cared for.”
Jody is survived by her loving husband, MSGT Rick Ramos, of North Pole, daughters, Karissa R. Ramos and Allison Kelly Ramos of North Pole, brothers, Clyde Jenkins of Wellington, KS and Mike Jenkins of Topeka, KS, parents, Jim and Judy Fields of North Pole, and nephew, Jakob Jenkins of Manhattan, KS. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jeffery Allan Jenkins and her daughter, Briana King.
A Celebration of Life with Military Honors will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at VFW Post #10029; 3159 VFW Street in North Pole with Chaplain Lowdermilk (Capt. USAF) officiating. Memorial donations may be made to: Jody Ramos Memorial Fund at Alaska USA.
