Daniel McKenzie Boggs passed away suddenly at his home on Oct. 2, 2018 in Fairbanks at the young age of 25. Daniel was born on May 10, 1993, into the loving home of Joel and Rita Boggs, residing in North Pole at the time. Danny spent most of his early years in a log home on five acres where he could be a boy and run free with his two older brothers Jordan and Aaron. These three spent their carefree years playing closely together with trampoline forts, campouts, snow machining and swimming at Chena Lakes close by. The family attended Totem Park Church of the Nazarene and Door of Hope in Danny's early years so that faith in God and his great grace might be established in his young heart. All three boys, including Danny, were homeschooled in much of their elementary years, which allowed the family the flexibility to winter out some years in warmer climates. Music lessons, sports and church was mandatory at the Boggs' house, so Danny chose piano, for which he had talent. Football, T-ball and soccer were the sports of his choice.
The family moved from Alaska to permanently resettle and landed outside of Portland, Oregon, in the town of Dundee. Daniel enrolled into Dundee Elementary at age 7 with his brothers. The family began to settle into a farming community style of existence way away from the Portland city lights. Life was great in these times as Danny and his brothers in a sense began a new life. The next few years would find the family putting down roots and building a life in this temperate, pleasant part of the world. Danny and his brothers established themselves as a force to be reckoned with: the acquisition of many, many school chums, athleticism and other school activities, Church Youth Group at God Song Church, young life, family boating on the Willamette by summer and snowboarding in the Cascades by winter. The family worked together to build a beautiful existence right in the heart of the developing wine industry in Dundee. Daniel and his brothers finished their high school years at Newberg High School, each earning a high school diploma.
The family began to operate business once again in Alaska as the schooling years came to an end. Danny and his brothers began to be involved mainly in the painting trade and in the coffee industry. Danny worked as a painter in the family business up until the time of his passing. He attended Friends Church as primary place of worship and was involved in various men's groups.
In his passing, it is fair to say with great sorrow that the world has lost this beautiful life. This shy, somewhat backward soul struggled with depression and self image, though he was preciously loved all his years. Nevertheless, Danny was a beautiful man, beautiful son, magnificent, authentic and deep to those of us who knew him well, with a generous loving heart, compassion for the brokenhearted, and heart for his creator, his savior.
Daniel is preceded in death by his big brother Jordan on April 7, 2012; and his saintly mother Rita Boggs on Oct. 17, 2016.
