Dan Carson passed away at the age of 45 on September 3rd, 2018 in Fairbanks, Alaska. Dan was a wonderful man who loved his family. As the only son of 5 children, he always took the lead in taking care of his family. Born in North Pole, Alaska on June 15th, 1973, his family moved out of state when he was 3, living in Wyoming and then later New Mexico. At the age of 17, he returned to Alaska to complete his senior year, graduating from Lathrop High School in 1991.
He married his wife Joianna on March 4th, 2006 and enjoyed his honeymoon in Belize which sparked their interest in eventually relocating to a more tropic environment. He loved and cherished his wife of 12 years and their two children. He was always so proud of his family, never missing an opportunity to share a story or an accomplishment.
He worked for many years with the State of Alaska as a heavy equipment operator until deciding to move forward with his goal of owning his own shop. As a mechanic and a heavy equipment operator, there was no job he couldn’t handle. He was passionate about job safety and quality of performance, helping play a vital role in the passing of the “move over” law for DOT workers.
Dan was generous, loyal, loving and kind. His charm and sense of humor always put everyone at ease. He safely guarded his relationship with his Heavenly Father, Jehovah and loved to talk about his faith as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. His loss leaves an emptiness in the lives of so many and he will be missed by all.
He is survived by his Wife, Joianna; Daughter, Brianna; Son, Azar (all of Fairbanks, AK); Mother, Kathleen (Rosepine, LA); Sisters, Kristina (Rosepine, LA), Molly (Deridder, LA), Judith (Moss Bluff, LA) and Lydia (Rosepine, LA); Step-mother, Carol (Rosepine, LA); as well as 11 nieces and nephews and numerous extended family.
He is preceded in death by his Father, Ronald and his Nephew, Christian.
A memorial talk will be given at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 2406 Broadway Road North Pole, AK on September 10th, 2018 at 6:30pm. All are welcome to attend.
