Our beloved daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, Agnes "Sue" Susan Samuelson left us
sadly, on August 15, 2018. She passed away unexpectantly at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital
surrounded by family and friends. Sue was born December 30, 1964 in Fairbanks to Ruth and
Moses Samuelson, where she remained the rest of her life.
Sue always smiled and welcomed all with open arms. Her genuine love and sincerity was felt
by family and friends. She was thoughtful and caring, never forgetting a birthday, spending
considerable time choosing each card to make sure it expressed exactly how she felt.
Sue had a passion for boat-racing which began at an early age. Her involvement and
enthusiasm for the sport was one of her biggest joys and accomplishments. Her little body was
easily maneuvered on the boat, leaning with each turn and wave. She was tiny and could crawl
up to the bow quickly if needed to stabilize the boat. She raced many sprint races as well as
many Yukon 800s taking after her father Sio-Mo. Her niece Ashley followed in her footsteps.
Sue will always be remembered for her love of cards, thus earning the name of "Rummy
Queen". Aunt Sue was tough and would smile while she took her "winnings" from her nieces
and nephew. Sue's favorite pastimes were crocheting, creating more afghans than we could
count and playing board and card games. Sue loved watching her cooking shows and singing
to the band "Journey". Youngest niece, Heather fondly remembers hours of painting their nails
Sue will be dearly missed, she now joins her mother Ruth Samuelson; brothers, Jerry and
Harold Woods; niece, Jennifer Gallagher in heaven with the Lord.
Sue is survived by her father, Moses Samuelson; brothers, David Samuelson, Paul Woods and
partner, Lori Morgan; sister, Jeanne Woods and partner, Spencer Damschroder; nephew, Aaron
Gallagher and children, Peyton, twins Carson and Camryn; nieces, Ashley Holloway and

beginning at 5:00 p.m.
